Wrapping Identity
2025

Wrapping/identity goes beyond a solo performance, it’s a collaborative creation by three artists from different disciplines.
A paper creature unfolds. Layer by layer, revealing the fragile boundary between reality and imaginary. Surreal visions bring characters to life, revealing through dance and mime a raw exploration of identity.
As it wraps and unwraps, both the paper entity and the androgynous character, embodied by Charlotte Puebla, forge an intimate bond. Accompanied by the original sound composition of Otto Rissanen, this lonely duet provokes a reflection on existence, absurd and whimsical, in all its shifting forms.
The starting point for wrapping/identity is an unusual garment: a paper coat, by Aleksandra Pershay. More than just a theater costume, this coat is an art object that resonates deeply with the principles of fashion deconstructivism. It challenges the limits of materiality, with its interaction with the performer at the heart of the piece.
