Cynthia explores perfectionism, exploitation, and the sacrifice of self through the transformation of a mannequin into an object of desire.
Cynthia explores perfectionism alongside the exploitation and the inhumane qualities that arise with it. It is inspired by the mannequin „Cynthia“ who was created in the 1930s by Lester Gaba. By embodying Cynthia, I show that perfection is created in an unsightly process that leads to a sacrifice of self to be desired for a limited period of time. From creation to destruction, Cynthia explores what is theirs and what has been forced upon them.
