Soft Threshold

Dance, camera, and sound intertwine to explore time, connection, and landscape, resisting the accelerated rhythm of extractive capitalism through a process of becoming-landscape. Field recordings of moss absorbing water and a whispered text from the moss’s perspective merge with release technique and improvisation, creating a movement that constantly flows in and out, softening and becoming rigid. Rooted in moss as a model of silent resistance, the work draws on slowness, stillness within movement, and non-forcing to translate the moss’s discreet, horizontal growth into the body: a threshold with neither beginning nor end. At the heart of the work is the idea that the rhythm of extractive capitalism fuels a culture of burnout, capable of consuming both nature and the body.
