TressaCod & Eye Code Agency
2026

TressaCod explores hair as a symbol of identity and transformation, while Eye Code Agency explores the gaze as a language shaped by genetics, perception, and culture.
TressaCod is a visual and conceptual journey that explores the profound meaning of hair in human culture and its millennia-old connection to power and identity. As a boundary between the body and the outside world, hair mediates between the individual and society, between the self and the other. Its care and adornment are acts of identity construction and symbolic communication. In its ambivalence between beauty and fragility, life and death, hair embodies the complexity of human existence. Hairstyles and haircuts reflect the desire to control and transform one’s own destiny.
Eye Code Agency is a dance created for the eyes—a score of eye movements constructed from the variants of the MAOA gene, which regulates serotonin, dopamine, and noradrenaline, and influences mood, impulsivity, and cognition. Each genetic mutation becomes a visual trace, each gaze a gesture inscribed in the body before it reaches the mind. Scientific studies show that the gaze is not neutral: the direction and duration of eye movements can influence moral decisions. Much of our decision-making is intuitive and sensory, embedded in the body before emerging as conscious reasoning. From this perspective, the body becomes a living form of writing: every perception is a pre-linguistic act that inscribes meaning onto the world, and every gaze becomes a network of cultural layers transformed into an ethical act.
