ADRIANO BOLOGNINO - Chopin into us-Burning
AUGUST 17 - 21
Evening 1 Chopin Into Us - Burning
The idea was to create a series of evenings that bring together different authors who, for various reasons, connect with thoughts, ideas, and emotions related to key themes in our work.
The first author I chose for this format is Frederic Chopin, perhaps the composer who comes closest to the rhythms that embody the essence of my choreographic language: unpredictability, silence, and pauses. These are elements that have fascinated me since my very first encounter with dance and have stayed with me, becoming part of who I am today.
The subtitle Into Us - Burning refers to the deep artistic and personal connection between me and my partner. What we always seek within ourselves and in our collaborators is a flame that burns, a flame of renewal and transformation. Burning the old to make space for the new, without forgetting it.
I have always felt a fire burning inside me when I create. Being very instinctive and often developing material in the moment while in the studio, I let myself be carried by this energy, by this constantly feeding fire. I have always thought of it as my way of burning away pain, anxiety, and worries, transforming them into something more bearable and, in a way, even beautiful. It is my way of escaping reality and burning it, absorbing only the energy that cannot harm me.
